So there's an offer on the table. It seems that someone is interested in optioning "Well Done, Pear Danube!" For those of you who don't know what "option" means (at least in this case), it means that someone wants to purchase the rights to the script and possibly make a movie out of it. It also means that once they own the rights they can do anything they want to it, including rewrites. So... I don't know how to feel about it really. I'm actually really very fond of the script as it is to be honest, but as some of you were so good to remind me, "Dude! It's money!" Yup. Sure is. Forgive me if I have a little bit of angst regardless. I'm trying not to think so much about the money, but rather the doors it might open. I mean, I have a job, after all. No need to get greedy about this sort of thing. Can't take it with you. Blah blah blah. If you look closely you can see my artistic integrity leaking out of my shoe. I guess the saving grace may be that the director who wants to do it is Savage Steve Holland. That's the guy who did "Better off Dead" which launched John Cusack into stardom. It's an interesting scenario I find myself in.

Don't worry, nothing's been signed, no figures quoted (I'd rather not know for the time being), no hands shook, no "good job" pats on the rump. Just the initials here. I suspect that Mr. Holland and I will have to have a man-to-man about all this before anything goes down so I can see what he means when he says "rewrites." The good people at Axial Entertainment, who handle my script distribution for me, inform me that they are trying to negotiate me being in charge of all the rewrites, and to receive, I guess, more money for that as well. Actually I think I'd rather they keep the money and just shoot it as is and take their chances. But I'm trying to keep an open mind about things. Who knows? They just may want to change the setting... or some of the jokes... or Pear Danube's name to Finkel McTrodswaller.

Do I sound cynical here? Lemme check.

Yup. That's cynical all right. I even used italics at one point, what's that about?

Stay tuned. More to come.

Oh, wait... here's more...

THE TROJAN WHORE IS COMING!

Was that in poor taste?
