Up Dog Down

As it turns out, Tip My Cup productions has decided not to put UP DOG UP on, leaving it a world premiere that never occurred. Shame, really. It's good stuff.

On the flip side of that, Director Dan and I attended a meet and greet with Fall Collection productions and are in the midst of deciding what piece to submit. It is a ways away (October) but it seems like a great opportunity.

Say "lavee."

for the trivia buff

Here's an interesting little piece of info that will one day be part of the Trivial Pursuit Sean Michael Welch edition... in my head.

For those of you who actually read this, you may know that Chicago's Thunder and Lightning Ensemble will be running a performance of EARL THE VAMPIRE in 2007. What you may not know is that one of the stars is Kim Logan.

Yes, THE Kim Logan.

Who is Kim Logan? Well, she stared in another play of mine while I was still an up and young-coming college playwright back in the folds of the motherland, Flint. WHY BERNARD SHAW WAS ACTUALLY A WOMAN, as directed by Josh Sauvie for his directing class final, and starring Eric Miller, who gained infamy for being the original Hampton in, yes, you guessed it, EARL THE VAMPIRE. And also starring Jamie Caron, who is married to Jennifer Rudolph, who was my Shana in the same production.

When coincidences like this happen, I can't help but think serendipity plays a small part.

Here's to a new year full of welcome surprises.

P.S. GO KATIE!
